Panko is known as Japanese-style breadcrumbs and is made from bread.

What’s unique about these pankos is that they are made from corn flour. The advantage is that they are gluten-free and also crisper and airier than wheat-based pankos.

Corn panko is available plain and also seasoned with green herbs, curry, kimshi and soy. They are suitable for breading fish, meat, snacks or for use as a crumble. The panko is easy to incorporate into hot and cold dishes, with the added benefit of retaining flavour and colour after heating.
